Domain name "Betting.Online" sold for $400k.

The domain name "betting.online" was sold for $400,000. This was confirmed by Radix, the operator of the domain registry.

In terms of domain transactions, it creates a new record for generic top-level domains (gTLDs).

The deal, which was facilitated by escrow.com and carried out directly through the registry, is currently ranked as the joint fifth-highest domain sale among all top-level domains (TLDs) for 2023, according to DNJournal.

More than 160,000 people visit casino.online each month, and 34% of the traffic comes from direct links, according to SimilarWeb statistics.

CEO of Casino.online Patrick Gerhard made comments regarding the company's recent acquisition of betting.online. He said: "We've reached a major milestone with the acquisition of betting.online. With this.online domain, we hope to strengthen our position in the market. The vision and goals of our brand are well aligned with such high-value domains."

There are domains in Radix's platinum inventory that are worth more than six digits in USD. For upcoming sales, the register intends to either work directly with prospective customers or in tandem with brokerages and internet markets.

The purchase of betting.online and casino.online demonstrates the increasing interest of gambling companies in premium domains. Global digital media business XLMedia has received an upfront cash payment of $4 million for the sale of three of its gambling domains and related websites located in Europe: Casino.se, Casino.gr, and Casino.pt.

Furthermore, the domain name Casinos.com, which Gambling.com Group purchased in November 2022, was launched. Like Gambling.com, the website is an affiliate network that provides customers with bonus codes, ratings, and affiliate links to online casinos.
